Stanley T. Adams of Olathe, Kansas was a U.S. Army Officer who served in the 19th Infantry Regiment during the Korean War. On February 4th, 1951, after Adams' platoon was attacked by 250 soldiers, Adams led 13 men against 150 enemy soldiers in combat. He persevered through battle despite being shot in the leg and encountering four grenades. He was awarded the Medal of Honor by President Harry S. Truman on July 5, 1951 at the White House. He went on to be commissioned as a second lieutenant and retired in 1970 as a lieutenant colonel. He passed on April 19th, 1999.
