Born in Honesdale, PA in September 1984, Jacob had red hair, blue eyes, and was very intelligent. Jacob was driven to become a Marine after 9/11 and after graduating high school in 2003, he entered the USMC. On his last visit home on Christmas in 2005, it was clear Jacob had seen more than any 21 year old should have seen. Jacob had the opportunity to be discharged on a medical leave, but he chose not to leave his men. In February 2006, Jacob was awarded the Meritorious Mast award and on March 2006 Jacob was awarded the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal. The following month on March 31, Jacob was killed in action on the streets of Fallujah. Jacob was waving his men on and pledged allegiance to the American Flag. It was a bullet through his heart that took his life on the dirty streets Anbar Province, Iraq.
