Gordon Sumner, PhD is a retired senior Army officer and member of the US Federal Government Senior Executive Service. He is also a member of the Santee Tribe of South Carolina. Dr. Sumner, founder and owner of Gordon Sumner Consulting, LLC, and Service-Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business and Native American Small Business, previously served as the National Director for the National Committee for Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR). As a presidential appointee at the Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense level, he provided executive leadership to the largest volunteer organization within the Department of Defense comprised of over 5000 uniformed military, government civilians, defense contractors and volunteers located in every State, Territory and the District of Columbia.

After retiring from the US Army in 1997, Dr. Sumner served in various leadership roles with small and large businesses such as SYColeman, formally SY Technology, a wholly-owned subsidiary of L3 Communications, Peduzzi Associates and Prestige Technology, Inc. He also has extensive work with, and leadership positions with national and international nonprofits such as the Military Order of the Purple Heart, American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars, the Association of Air Medical Services, the MedEvac Foundation International and the Red Cross.

He holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Adult Education from Madison University (Summa Cum Laude), a Master of Business Administration (Summa Cum Laude) from Auburn University, a Master of Education (with Honors) from Boston University and a BS, Music Performance and Music Education, Jacksonville State University. He is also a Graduate at the John F. Kennedy School of Government, Harvard University.

Gordon currently serves as a Senior Fellow and Affiliate Faculty, George Mason University; a Council Member, Graduate Education Development Council, Auburn University; Scholar; and, the Board of Advisors, Office of Military Services, George Mason University. He is an Army Reserve Ambassador and an Ambassador with the Yellow Ribbon Fund. He is also the Commander, Greater Washington DC Chapter 353, Military Order of the Purple Heart supporting his fellow wounded veterans and their families.

He holds numerous awards and decorations to include the Secretary of Defense Medal for Exceptional Public Service and the Commandant of the Coast Guard Distinguished Civilian Service Medal. Dr. Sumner, a decorated combat veteran, is the recipient of the Legion of Merit (OLC), Bronze Star Medal (V), Purple Heart, Meritorious Service Medal (3OLC), Air Medal and Joint Services Commendation Medal. He also holds the Army Master Aviator badge, the Master Parachutist badge and the Ranger Tab.

He was awarded other US and foreign awards and decorations such as “The Most Excellent Order of the British Empire” awarded by HRH, Queen Elizabeth II, the British Army Air Corp Badge, British Parachutist Badge, Ecuadorian Parachutist Badge, the “Order of Saint Michael”, and the National Guard Bureau “Minute Man” award.

He is a recipient of the “Military Alumnus of the Year – 1993” at Jacksonville State University and the Columbia Broadcasting System (CBS) “People of Distinction Humanitarian Award” in 2013.

With over 20 years of legal experience, Laurence Grayer is a strategic corporate counsel and executive with extensive experience advising CEOs, boards of directors, and business leaders regarding high-profile disputes and high-exposure litigation matters, commercial and government contracts, corporate compliance and governance, business transactions, government investigations, mergers and acquisitions, FAR, intellectual property, crisis management, labor and employment, risk management and mitigation, insurance coverage, and wide-ranging foreign and domestic legal matters.

Mr. Grayer is currently General Counsel, Vice President, and Chief Compliance Officer with Creative Associates International. At Creative, Mr. Grayer oversees all legal affairs and the corporate compliance function while supporting Creative’s operations in more than 30 countries across North America, South America, Africa, Europe, and Asia.

Mr. Grayer also serves on the Board of Directors and is General Counsel for Veterans Moving Forward, a non-profit organization dedicated to serving veterans with physical or mental challenges.

Kim is a consultant with experience in the federal space helping agencies understand their threats and opportunities through her expertise in strategic management, enterprise risk management, and strategic foresight. She also spends her time volunteering with the Daughters of the American Revolution, is an avid athlete, having run several marathons, and is in the process of securing her masters degree in cybersecurity policy and risk management.

When she is not working or volunteering, she spends her time taking care of her two energetic rescue dogs: a lab mix named Guinness, and an Australian Cattle Dog named Macallan.
